Coles has vowed to ditch its plastic collectables as the retail giant moves to become “Australia’s most sustainable supermarket”.
The company has scrapped its highly popular Little Shop toys after concerns the small plastic objects have ended up in landfill and waterways.
The Stikeez range – tiny plastic objects in the shapes of fruit and vegetables – has also been discontinued.
Coles says the plastic items no longer “align with customers’ preferences and priorities”.
